Should you choose a 20, 30 or 60-minute lesson?
Studio lessons at Six String Studio cost £20 for 30 minutes or £40 for 60 minutes. A £15, 20-minute option is available for primary-school pupils under ten only. Ask Dave which length suits your starting point and goals.
Twenty minutes: a specific option for younger pupils
The shorter session is available to primary-school pupils under ten. It can be discussed for a young learner, alongside their interests and practical needs. Secondary-school students are not eligible for this option. If there are extenuating circumstances, contact Dave to discuss them.
Thirty minutes: focused work
A half-hour lesson gives us a focused session for a song, musical skill or manageable next step. It may suit a beginner or a developing player; it is not restricted to one age or level. What matters is the work you want to do and how you will practise between lessons.
Sixty minutes: time to explore
A longer session gives more room to work through material, connect technique with songs and discuss questions. It is not reserved for advanced players. Equally, a longer appointment is not automatically better for every beginner. Discuss what would be useful rather than choosing solely by ability labels.
Online lessons
Live one-to-one online lessons through Zoom or Microsoft Teams are 60 minutes only, £40 and paid in advance. Agree the instrument, camera and sound setup before booking.
What should you tell Dave?
Share your instrument, any experience, musical interests and usual availability. For a child, include their age and school stage so the shorter option can be discussed accurately. Parents are welcome to sit in lessons.
