YOU PLUG IN.
Do I need any experience?
No. Complete beginners are welcome, as are returning players and musicians looking to develop particular skills.
Which instruments do you teach?
Acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, ukulele and drums. I play piano and cello, but do not offer lessons in those instruments.
Are lessons suitable for children and adults?
Yes. Tell me the student’s age, instrument and experience so we can discuss a suitable starting point.
How much are lessons?
£40 for 60 minutes or £20 for 30 minutes. Eligible under-10s in primary school can take a 20-minute lesson for £15. Secondary-school students are not eligible for the shorter option; extenuating circumstances can be discussed.
Do I have to take exams?
No. We can focus on playing for enjoyment, developing a particular skill, performance or grade preparation. Your goals shape the lessons.
Can I learn songs I like?
Absolutely. Music you enjoy helps us develop technique, rhythm and understanding in a practical way.
Do I need to bring an instrument?
Mention what you own when you enquire. We’ll confirm what to bring and what you’ll need for practice before your first lesson.
Where are lessons held?
At my purpose-built studio in Stockton-on-Tees. Directions are shared when a lesson is arranged.
How much should I practise?
Regular, focused practice is more useful than an occasional long session. We’ll agree a manageable routine and clear tasks suited to your goals.
What if I need to cancel?
Please give at least 48 hours’ notice. Full booking and cancellation terms will be confirmed before your first lesson.
Is the Guitar Workshop open?
The adult Guitar Workshop is currently closed. You can enquire about future opportunities.
How do I book?
Use the Contact page and tell me your instrument, experience and preferred times. I’ll reply about availability and next steps.
Something else on your mind?
Can I buy a gift certificate?
Yes — choose any number of 30-minute lessons at £17.50 each or 60-minute lessons at £35 each. These are gift-certificate rates; standard lesson prices are £20 and £40 respectively.
Real music. Personal tuition.
