From first chords to finding your voice

Start with comfortable technique, tuning and a handful of useful chords. Then bring them to life through steady strumming, smooth changes and complete songs. We connect each new skill to music, so practice has a purpose beyond repeating an exercise.

Acoustic players can explore fingerpicking, rhythm and accompanying vocals. Electric players can develop riffs, lead phrasing, bends, picking and improvisation. If you have been playing for years but feel stuck, we can identify what is holding you back and build a focused route forward.

Before your first lesson

Should I learn acoustic before electric?

No. Start with the instrument and sound that make you want to play. If you are choosing your first guitar, ask Dave about comfort, size and the music you enjoy before buying.

What should I include in my enquiry?

Tell Dave your instrument, playing experience, musical interests and preferred days. For a child, include their age. Say whether you would prefer studio or online lessons and whether graded exams interest you.

Can I learn without taking exams?

Absolutely. Exams are optional. You can focus on favourite songs, developing confidence, playing with others or simply enjoying a new skill.
